We are recruiting and have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health Officer to join our team, supporting the Food Safety/Public Health manager.

**Location - home based. However, this role requires a degree of travel including on our vessels, therefore we are seeking applicants who reside near one of the following ports: Larne, Hull, Liverpool or Dublin.**

In this role you will work very closely with the Food Safety Manager in the planning, managing and implementation of the strategic and operational development of the business in regard to its food safety & public health responsibilities.

In this role you will gain a wide range of training and clear development will be provided so you can support and work as part of the wider Health, Safety and Security department.

**About the role**:

- Undertake routine and programmed inspections of premises, ships/vessels when necessary ensuring that they are compliant in respect of food safety and public health statues and legislation
- Support the development of strategic plans in respect of food safety and public health to ensure the business has clearly defined objectives
- Identify and assess potentials impacts and threats to the food safety and public health controls employed across the marine and shore-based operations
- Inspect, audit & report upon the level of compliance to company procedures across marine vessels and shore based operations

**About you**:

- CIEH accredited Degree or equivalent in Environmental Health from UK
- 3-5 years’ experience as an EHO/H&S Advisor with food safety/manufacturing and public health responsibilities including inspection and auditing
- Highly numerate with skills in analysing and interpreting data and reports
- IT Literate with good working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
