Milestone Infrastructure is the UKs leading highways maintenance provider looking after over 24,000 miles of roads, 280,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with mínimal impact to local communities.

As the result of a recent contract award, we are looking for a Finance Assistant (12 months) for our Suffolk Highways Contract within Milestone Infrastructure. The role requires some occasional travel to depot sites. Aimed at supporting the existing finance team in servicing needs of the Contract. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Accountant.

**Key duties & responsibilities will include**:

- Retaining a network or contacts across the wider business
- Liaise with the local commercial and operational teams
- Support month end close routine and systems reconciliation
- Processing supplier invoices into the works order management system
- Matching invoices to purchase orders
- Processing payments to subcontractors
- Preparing weekly accounts payable analysis
- Reconciling supplier statements, identifying missing transactions
- Raising sales invoices to the client
- Resolving queries related to the accounts payable ledger
- Liaising with shared service centre on payments of suppliers and subcontractors

**Essential Skills**:

- Strong financial skills with relevant accounting experience
- A strong problem solver
- Good IT system skills (Excel to pivot tables a must)
- Experience of a fast pace constantly improving environment
