The focus of the Physical Security team is to provide strategic leadership and guidance to the business on how to protect our people and assets, responding to threats and incidents that occur. The purpose of the role will be to operate within the SCC Control Room environment, reporting directly to one of the SCC Shift Supervisors. The SCC Operations personnel will provide key functions within this front-line team, by ensuring they support the delivery of the UKPS service lines to our customers, thus enabling us to safeguard National Grid’s people, assets and reputation.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Monitoring multiple sites across the UK via a computer system and CCTV
- To maintain our SCC services to the appropriate British Standards
- Alarm signal handling from the systems routed into the SCC Control Rooms
- Ensuring we support the safety of our employees, contractors and visitors across our monitored portfolio of sites
- Dealing with emergency situations routed to SCC Control Room
- Dealing effectively with phone calls from customers.
- Performing system integrity and compliance checks on SCC systems

**Qualifications**:

- Applicable qualifications and/or proven experience in Maths, English and IT
- Full UK Driving License
