**Your Responsibilities**:

- Act as the secondary key point of contact for the Accounts Payable department
- Supervise and Manage the AP team, providing daily guidance and development for AP staff members
- Deliver annual appraisals for AP staff members. The postholder should also be prepared to undertake reviews and developmental meetings with any team member as and when required.
- Ensure new suppliers payment terms are in-line with business policy.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure that all payment queries are managed.
- In conjunction with the AP Manager develop and report periodic KPI’s and month end purchase ledger reporting.
- Using the Dimensions system, open new supplier accounts with correct paperwork and terms agreed. It is the postholder’s responsibility to ensure this is done accurately and in a timely manner.
- On a daily basis using the focal point and Dimension systems, match, batch and process a high volume of supplier invoices.
- Through liaison with the depots, chase for authorisation of invoices.
- Review of aged creditor balances and aim to resolve any issues in a timely manner
- General maintenance of the AP system ensuring accuracy of information stored in the system.
- Liaising with suppliers and A+A depot personnel in relation to all matters concerning AP.
- Ensure supplier statements reconciliations are prepared and reviewed.
- Production of weekly payment runs using the Dimensions system, payment run to be authorised by AP manager and Group Financial Controller, and uploaded by the AP Team Leader
- Manage and address supplier and colleague queries.
- Processing and verifying staff credit card and personal expenditure, identifying the correct VAT and posting to the correct cost centre. It is the postholder’s responsibility to chase and obtain all missing receipts supporting credit card expenditure from the cardholder or relevant manager.
- Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and assisting in reconciling unallocated Cash.
- Reconciling intercompany statement reconciliations on a fortnightly to monthly basis
- Ensuring high priority suppliers are paid on time in accordance with payment terms and conditions agreed.
- Help maintain Company accounts to be efficient and compliant with audit requirements.
- Provide cover during the absence of any other team member within the AP department.
- Filing and general system housekeeping. Contribute to keeping the office environment tidy.
- Raise purchase orders when required using the POP system.
- Any other task assigned by supervision for which the postholder is qualified and experienced to undertake.
- Ensure that the AP Manager is kept updated with issues that require escalation and resolution.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
A good general standard of education is essential, with good communication skills. Possession of or studying towards AAT qualification is advantageous. Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Previous experience of Access Dimensions is beneficial, as are excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Experience of people management is required. Residing within a commutable distance from the Harrogate office is required. Possession of a UK
