Sunderland City Council has a strong commitment to apprentices and training and as a successful Fleet Administration Apprentice, you will be provided with unparalleled support throughout the duration of your programme. You will develop the skills you need for the job by working alongside your Fleet Management colleagues and getting hands on experience.
As our Fleet Administration Apprentice, you will assist in providing a road transport compliance administration service to internal and external customers. You will support Vehicle Taxing, MOTS, Operator Licensing, transport legislation, Driving Licence checks and other Fleet Administration responsibilities.
As part of the apprenticeship scheme, we'll provide you with L3 Business Administration qualification. You'll also have access to numerous development opportunities and enjoy the support and encouragement of knowledgeable and friendly team.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will need to be organised, able to plan and prioritise and be a real problem solver. So, as well as excellent IT skills you'll be thorough and organised in your working approach and be comfortable in dealing with multiple tasks and projects at once.
You'll have several stakeholders, both internal and external - so your ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) is vital in keeping customers happy. You'll be required to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders so an ability to build rapport is important.

You’ll undertake and support meaningful and vital work: You'll provide day to day support to ensure the Fleet team manage and maintain Sunderland City Council’s large vehicle portfolio including cars, vans, sweepers, gully tankers, refuse collection vehicles, gritters and a wide variety of horticultural equipment.
