**Street Lighting Operative**

**Location: Congleton**

**Contract Type: Permanent**

We are working with a market leader in the highways industry to recruit a street lighting operative to join the street lighting team in Cheshire.

The main purpose of the role is to carry out highway lighting maintenance operations on existing highway electrical equipment and new installations across the county. As a Skilled Operative, you will provide a first-class service to our customers, completing a high standard of maintenance to the highway network. You will need to be able to follow basic instruction and deal effectively with peers, client representatives and the general public.

**The Role**
- Carry out a variety of skilled tasks including the installation and repair of Street Lights, Illuminated Traffic Bollards and Illuminated Signs.
- Ability to undertake activities associated with light goods vehicles to include MEWP vehicles
- Traffic management operations
- Ensure compliance to electrical standards to ensure safe electrical installations
- Driving/operating vehicles/plant requiring both general and specialist skills
- Providing instruction and mentor apprentices and trainees
- Participation in Call Out/Stand by Rota Out of Hours for Emergency Work
- Other Ad Hoc duties to fulfil the requirement of the role

**About You**
- NVQ Level 3 in Highway Electrical Work Public Lighting (or approved equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous Street Lighting or Highways experience
- Desirable: ECS Card
- Desirable: IPAF 1B MEWP
- Desirable: G39 Certificate
- Desirable: 18th Edition or 714 HERs qualification
