**Your new company**
Your new organisation are a government based entity and have a new opening for an assistant accountant. It is a highly desirable position for any looking to take a step up from being an accounts assistant or is studying/working as in accountancy & finance.The team is currently expanding and the aim and is to make the position permanent after the FTC has ended. The reason for the position being an FTC can be explained in a phone call with me.
**Your new role**
Main Purpose of Job: To support the Finance department by performing clerical & bookkeeping tasks, including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports, fielding communications with other departments and third parties, filing, and other duties,as needed. Main Tasks:

- Processing of Purchase Ledger invoices and credit notes
- Reconciliation of supplier statements (follow up missing invoices where necessary)
- Resolve invoice queries
- Maintenance of Aged Creditors
- Posting of sundry cashbook items
- Maintenance of online bank accounts - processing payments to 3rd party suppliers
- Bank Reconciliations
- Weekly Sales and Orders
- Weekly cash reporting
- Processing and reconciliation of Petty Cash transactions
- Processing of Company Barclaycard VAT
- Processing of Employee Cash & Credit Card Expense Claims
- Stock price verification
- Payroll
- Monthly GRNI accruals calculation
- Assist FA/FC with monthly management accounts and half/year end account packs
- Posting of Nominal Ledger journals
- Filing all paperwork

**What you'll need to succeed**
Qualifications/Training:

- Ideally possessing or studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification (e.g ACCA, CIMA, AAT).

Experience / Skills Required:

- Excellent IT skills - especially in the use of excel/spreadsheets Vlookups, Pivots.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Some experience within a finance department would be advantageous
