**Family Description and Location**:
We are seeking an experienced Head Gardener to care for a stunning estate owned by a delightful British couple. Nestled in the outskirts of Henley, in an area renowned for its natural beauty, the Grade 2 Listed 16th Century farmhouse sits on a sprawling 29-acre property with a stable yard. The majority of the land consists of picturesque pastures for horses, complemented by various captivating features including:

- Formal gardens
- Parterre
- Herbaceous borders
- Rose garden
- Walled garden
- Vegetable garden
- 3 greenhouses
- Koi Pond
- Old woodland
- Majestic ancient oaks and vibrant wisteria

As the Head Gardener, you will join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining the estate's immaculate grounds. While a full-time housekeeper and a group of skilled ground staff, including handymen and a junior gardener, already handle routine tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, and some outsourcing to contractors, we seek someone with leadership skills and expertise in the following areas:

- Planting, sowing, pruning, and nurturing a variety of plants
- Proposing innovative design concepts to enhance different areas of the garden
- Implementing effective pest control measures
- Managing the vegetable garden, including planting and harvesting (producing enough for all to share)
- Occasionally providing care and feeding for dogs, including a Great Dane and two dachshunds

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

- Qualified gardener with RHS or other relevant gardening certification
- Excellent teamwork and leadership abilities, capable of overseeing a small team
- Comfortable working with animals, particularly horses and dogs
- Verifiable references demonstrating your reliability and expertise

**Days of Work, Accommodation, and Salary**:
Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with an hour for lunch. Occasionally, you may be required to work a half-day on weekends, particularly for tasks like watering the greenhouse or during the principals' absence. Flexibility is crucial in this position.

Please note that there is no on-site accommodation available. Therefore, this role can be either a daily position if you reside within a commutable distance, or alternative arrangements can be made. The salary for this position ranges from £35,000 to £45,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. If accommodation is needed, the client is open to providing it or supplementing your income to assist you in finding suitable lodging in the area.

Furthermore, there may be opportunities for additional work for a partner within the household. This could include housekeeping or cooking duties, depending on their skills and interests.
