**Preparing for Adulthood Lead - Interim
**Location**: South East, hybrid working

**Length**: Until March 2023 with the possibility of extension

**IR35 Status**: Inside

An interesting opportunity has arisen within a busy SEND department for an interim to lead on their Preparing for Adulthood and Post-16 strategy.

**_Key responsibilities of the Preparing for Adulthood Lead will include:_**
- Scoping the work through a robust needs assessment of young people in transition to determine what the strategy should be
- Working closely and collaboratively with key contacts across health, social care and education as well as special schools, young people forum and families to understand what works best for them and coproduce the new strategy
- Undertaking a thorough consultation on the strategy and reporting to the SEND partnership board on progress and development
- Developing and implementing clear progression pathways for those with SEND to move towards employment, independence, community participation and good health

**_Experience and skills required for the Preparing for Adulthood Lead:_**
- Demonstrable experience in a local authority SEND or commissioning capacity
- Knowledge of health, social care and education legislation
- Ability to influence and work with people at a senior level and build successful working relationships with Headteachers, Governors, local authority staff and external agencies
- Previously and successfully planned and delivered change
