The Hive, Wirral Youth Zone, is open to young people afterschool in the evenings and at weekends, for some young people The Hive will be a second home. The café area is an essential part of the offering to young people and as the catering supervisor you will develop, manage, and deliver the catering provision at the Youth Zone, ensuring young people have access to inspiring and healthy dishes and the café is warm and welcoming to all young people.

We are looking for someone who can deliver on the young people’s aspirations and who:

**Duties and Responsibilities - Detailed**
- To lead the catering provision, ensuring that the café is an integral part of the Youth Zone offer and contributes to the support and development of young people.
- To undertake and supervise the preparation of food and beverages served in the café area as well as for events, internal bookings and room hire
- Produce and cost menus, within budget and with support from the CEO
- To create stock control procedures ensuring they are adequate, and up to date
- To serve food and beverage to Youth Zone members, ensuring they receive a great level of customer service
- With support from the CEO arrange and manage staffing rotas for the café including staff holidays and leave
- With support from the CEO record catering performance against key indicators, such as number of meals served and weekly profit
- Maintain a clean working environment as set out in the cleaning schedule by ensuring regular cleaning of all work surfaces, storerooms, and ancillary areas, recording all cleaning
- Ensure the reporting of any faults/repairs required
- Ensure all Health and Safety/Environmental Health requirements are adhered to, namely:
- Reporting of all equipment not working properly
- Reporting of any health and safety issues
- Compliance with food hygiene regulations, ensure food is stored correctly and at correct temperatures; and record all high-risk food temperatures on delivery and prior to service
- Line Management of kitchen assistants including 1-2-1 appraisals, coaching and training and responsibility for all HR aspects (with support from CEO)
- Ordering and control of all stock, including identifying alternative suppliers for the for example Fairshare
- Cash handling and the subsequent financial administration in line with Wirral Youth Zone financial procedures
- Clearing tables and washing up
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £10.42-£12.00 per hour
