**Operations Assistant, Felixstowe**

TLP are delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established leading warehousing and forwarding specialist in their search for an experienced Operations Assistant to join their busy forwarding department on a full time, permanent basis.

Working as a Freight Forwarder you will be responsible for all aspects of international cargo movements, ensuring the highest levels of service are maintained by actively monitoring both arrivals and departures informing customers of any delays that maybe incurred. You will organise the safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of goods to destination.

**Outline of Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining communication with clients through all phases of the shipment journey.
- Completing all relevant Import / Export paperwork.
- Arranging collections / deliveries of freight with approved suppliers.
- Ensuring all consignments carried are correctly costed and ready to invoice.
- To respond to all quotation requests including ad hoc rates with suppliers.
- Ensuring all customer queries and / or complaints are investigated and resolved without delay.
- Responsible for high levels of Customer experience.
- Operational Co-operation with colleagues across the company, to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and support.
- Ensure that all jobs are closed promptly in line with month end.

**Skills/Experience Required**:

- Able to demonstrate a good general understanding of Freight Forwarding
- Understanding of landside logistics.
- Good Knowledge of Customs processes and procedures.
- Familiarity with Forwarding Operating software / systems and Job Costing.
- Mediation and negotiation skills.
- Root cause problem solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
