**Job summary**:
Applications for this role are restricted to existing officers of a UK police force or UK policing organisation.

This role is a designated homeworking role and will entail regular travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays, to visit and review forces.

**Job description**:
This role provides advice and guidance to Forces and related organisations on Civil Emergencies training and exercising matters, including the coordination of peer reviews, debriefs and sharing of organisational learning.

**Person specification**:
Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Consulting with key internal and external stakeholders to review, refresh and update evidence-based learning standards mapped to policing standards, policy and guidance on Civil Contingencies in accordance with agreed time and quality parameters, to enable the relevant curricula to reflect prevailing tactical and operational principles and priorities.
- Developing and maintaining the evidence-based specifications for national learning and development strategies and associated assessment criteria and professional development programmes initiatives for Civil Contingencies.
- Delivering training programmes to agreed content and assessment specifications.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to:

- Be a qualified trainer to meet the Police Sector Standard for the Training of Trainers: Training Essentials Programme (Modules 1+2+3), Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS Level 4) or NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Learning and Development or equivalent. Or be committed to work towards this within 6 months.
- Be a qualified assessor i.e. Assessing Competence in the Workplace or equivalent.
