**JOB** **PURPOSE**:
1. To help prepare and cook nutritionally balanced meals appropriate for under-fives in accordance with the nutritional guidance for the under-fives.

2. To maintain a safe, clean and healthy kitchen environment

3. To maintain accurate records regarding temperature controls etc.

4. To meet health and safety and environmental health requirements at all times.

5. To liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific dietary requirements.

6. To contribute to and attend his/her staff appraisal.

7. To attend any conferences, training events or staff/team meetings as identified by the Nursery Manager.

8. To ensure adherence to nursery’s code of practice on confidentiality.

9. To keep up to date with current good practice.

10. To help serve meals to children, clear after and keep the kitchen clean and tidy according to the H&S requirements.

11. To clean, disinfect, sterilise the all equipment and resources.

12. To clean the setting following a rota.

13. To inform the Manager/ Deputy about stock replenishing.

14. To perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager in his/her absence.

15. To empty and wash out bins in all rooms.

16. To tidy and dust Rooms.

17. To clean and sterilise resources.

18 Vacuum carpets and floors.

19. Clean Nursery toilets, staff toilets and hand basins.

20. Wash floors in kitchen, toilets and Nursery

21 Clean outdoor area.

22. Damp dust where appropriate.

23. Keep a check on cleaning materials and re-order via the Manager.

24. Lock or unlock the building securely.

Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time.
