**Personal Assistant /Support Worker Location: Irvine**

**Hours: 6 hrs p/wk (24 hrs in 4 week period)**
- **Proposed shifts are flexible over two days or one day occasionally, mostly day time, occasionally early evening to be agreed **_
- **+ flexibility to provide cover holidays and sickness for other PA**_

Personal Assistant / Support Worker required to support a vibrant, chatty young man with a diagnosis of Learning Disability, Autism, ADHD and cognitive visual processing disorder.

We are looking for someone with a fun personality, good conversation, who is energetic, motivated, flexible, sensible and a driver.

You will provide social support within the local community, within his home learning life skills and on short trips / respite breaks, always ensuring his safety and encouraging independence. The young man requires support to read, write and manage/understand his day. Companionship, continuity and consistency are very important to him. It is also important to him that he has fun and has a meaningful life.

He loves gaming on playstation, Marvel films, and football chat and it would be beneficial if applicants share the same interests. He also enjoys jigsaws and baking. He requires assistants to think of new activities to try and encourage him to be more sociable.

Experience of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD preferred. Encouragement with personal care including assistance with shaving will be required on occasion, mainly when accompanying him on short breaks away from home.

**Experience / Qualifications Required**

Experience of supporting young Adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, learning disability and dealing with seizures is preferred although his epilepsy is inactive.

ASD/Epilepsy training required (this can be provided by Employer)

You must be a driver with use of own car and a full clean driver’s licence, business insurance will be required. Please note that mileage allowance will be paid if using your car for work duties.

Successful applicants will have to provide 2 references (one of which must be your current or most recent employer) and undergo a New PVG Disclosure at the employers cost.
