Care Home Maintenance Supervisor
40 hours per week
**Job description**
We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor for our Care home. You’ll help to create the safe and attractive surroundings that enable us to give our service users the quality care and support they deserve. It’s important that our homes give the right first impression and that every area is always well-maintained and safe for residents. The role of Maintenance Supervisor offers plenty of variety as you’ll undertake a range of tasks to make sure our building and grounds are at their best all day, every day.
**Key Tasks**
- Maintain homes and their grounds so they fall in line with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Complete emergency maintenance tasks where needed.
- Complete Planned Proactive Maintenance folder.
- Liaise with Registered Manager and any external companies to complete maintenance tasks.
- Carry out all routine checks at the homes according to company procedures and within required timescales.
- Ensure emergencies are responded to promptly.
- Maintain a proactive approach to prevent problems from reoccurring.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
- Equipment is stored and maintained appropriately.
**Required Skills, Abilities and Experience**:
- You must have strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ensuring that all tasks are completed within the agreed time scales set by the Registered Manager.
- A good communicator and able to build a rapport quickly with all residents, families, and colleagues within the home.
- The ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Previous experience of working with older people is desirable but not essential.
**About You**:
- At least 1 years’ experience as a maintenance person
- Have knowledge or understanding of a wide range of building trades.
- Knowledge or understanding of health and safety at work, particularly moving and handling techniques and COSHH assessments.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge or understanding of the care sector.
