Welder/fabricator

**FACTORY OPERATIVE**

**West Sussex Office Furniture Ltd, **are a manufacturing distributor in commercial office and educational furniture, based in Chichester.

We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to work in the Metalwork department, with the ability to be flexible should we require you to work in other departments in the factory, if the need arises.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- MIG Welding to a high standard.
- Working from detailed drawings to manufacture, weld and complete components.
- Completing projects within timeframes set.
- High attention to detail to make sure measurements are accurate to prevent mistakes and wastage.
- Reporting all deficiencies and issues concerning Health & Safety, your working environment, equipment, and quality to your supervisor.
- Clean and maintain machinery / tools.
- Any technical machinery defaults are reported to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Compliance with Health & Safety procedures and responsibilities at all times.
- Safety conscious and wear correct PPE.

**Requirements**:

- 1 year Fabrication & Welding experience.
- Experience of working within a fast paced and demanding manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage.
- High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
- Have a can-do attitude and strive to meet deadlines and targets.
- Good communication skills.
- Numerate and literate, ability to read paperwork and understand measurements.
- Excellent attendance and time keeping is essential.
- Previous experience of operating machinery and hand power tools.
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
- Be able to carry out a broad range of tasks across all areas of the manufacturing process.

**Hours**: Mon - Thurs 7.30am to 16.30pm Fri 7.30am to 12.30pm (39 hrs a week)

**Breaks**: 30-minute lunch & two 15-minute tea breaks
