This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Time and Resilience (STAR) Worker to join SET CAMHS service in Essex. This role will be split across two teams, Basildon/Brentwood & the Thurrock Team.

The STAR Worker is a role that evolved as part of the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP-IAPT). The post holder will work within SET CAMHS Team as a part of the multidisciplinary team, they will be responsible for delivering brief evidence-based brief interventions (e.g., psychoeducation/ therapy groups and workshops or guided self-help) and physical heath monitoring for clients experiencing mental health difficulties under clinical supervision from the Hub team and Specialist Eating Disorder team.

The post holders will support the clinical work of CAMHS locality teams by assisting with social prescribing, enable young people and families to use strategies to support their care plan in the community including liaising with referrers, families and other agencies (local authority, education and other agencies) as well as through outcomes collection and data management.

The post holders will work with young people and families from different cultural backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post holder will have regular supervision from a senior clinician including 1:1 or group supervision and have ample CPD opportunities in the team such as weekly multi-disciplinary discussions.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost area supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011).
