Masterclass are working with a SEN school based in the Shoreham area, the school are looking for a teaching assistant to join the dedicated team of support staff.

The schools dedicated team provide these young learners with a happy, safe environment where they can thrive in their education and learn valuable life skills. The school have state of the art facilities as well as amazing outdoor areas to enhance these young learners learning experiences.

The Schools ideal applicant is someone who has skills to develop in to a valued member of the team and able to assist in the individual need of the learners. You will be working in small groups or on a 1-1, in and out of formal lessons. You will be fully immersed in to the life of the school and encouraged to be proactive in your role. The school will provide a 6 week induction and further online training will be provided.

**Job Role**:

- To support the young learners development across all areas of their education
- Support and encourage positive behaviour in line with school policies
- Work in small groups or 1-1 to support the class teacher in lessons
- Ensure a safe and secure environment enabling these young learners to feel relaxed and happy
- To establish positive relationships with staff and young learners
- To be committed to inclusive practice and making sure each learner has the chance to excel in their education
- To provide personal care if needed

**Must have**:

- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
