Responsible to: Manager and the Directors of the Home
Reports to: Manager/Nurse in Charge

Responsible for: The fabric and contents of the Home and grounds, and Health & Safety and Fire equipment

**Main Responsibilities**:
To carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its equipment, services and grounds in order to ensure that the Home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.

**General**
- To ensure gardens and environment are tidy, well kempt and litter free in order to present the Home to the best advantage.
- To maintain a register of equipment and set maintenance schedules.
- To service and repair equipment as required.
- Fire safety and weekly check of fire alarm systems and completion of paperwork - Fire warden when on premises
- Complete all relevant documentation and maintenance forms weekly & monthly as appropriate
- To contact and liaise with contractors where appropriate in regard to repair and maintenance schedules.
- To ensure decorative standards in the Home present the Home to the best advantage and record in the maintainence schedule.
- Any other duties deemed reasonable by Manager.

**Communication**:

- Participate in Staff meetings as and when required.
- Communicate with contractors where required.
- Meet on regular basis with Manager regarding environmental issues.

**Training and Development**:

- Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
- Willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programmes

**Health & Safety**:

- Adhere to the Home’s disposal of waste policy.
- Adhere to the Home’s policy for COSHH and legislation thereof.
- Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.
- Understand and ensure the implementation of the Home’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.

Pay: £21,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
