Scarborough is an exciting place to be. We are currently undergoing an exciting £47 million pound project to offer high quality modern facilities & designed to create the best environment to care for our patients.
The project will see the creation of a new urgent & emergency care unit which would see surgeons & the medical staff working together at the front door of the emergency unit. This means we can improve & streamline how patients are assessed, admitted & treated, which should reduce the time that people wait in the department, & ultimately improve patient safety.
We are a small hospital site which means you get to see the full range of adult emergencies including trauma. Being a small site means that we are a close working team who are friendly, helpful and supportive.
Our emergency department is co-located with our local Urgent Treatment Centre & OOH GP service. Between us we see over 60000 patients per year, of which over 14000 are over the age of 75. 11,000 of these patients are paediatric emergencies.
