RSM Management Limited provides in-house payroll services for the RSM UK Group, working closely with the People
Team, using proprietary software with four payrolls encompassing circa 5,000
as implementing other solutions.

**Overall Purpose**

The key responsibility will be to ensure the accurate and timely
in-house Payroll administration for the group in accordance with statutory regulations.

A key feature of the role will be to
manage the team effectively to ensure our all staff receive a quality service in all respects. The
jobholder will act as a focal point staff management, technical issues and be
expected to drive our objectives for continued digitisation of many aspects of
the team’s functions.

This is a pivotal role, and we would expect the post holder to make a positive contribution towards the overall future development and success of the team.

To take responsibility for the team reporting directly to the Pension Director and to the CFO for payment approvals.

**Responsibilities**

You will have previous managerial/supervisory experience with a keen eye for detail and enjoy working within a team. This role will be varied, with the
main focus on managing the completion of the monthly payrolls, internal
financial reporting, relationships with other teams & employee development.
In particular, you should be able to demonstrate:

- Your knowledge of statutory & legislative regulations, including workplace pensions
- An ability to communicate at all levels - both internal & external - in a prompt manner
- Understanding payroll deadlines & requirements
- Clear & concise communication, both written & verbal
- An ability to work independently & as part of the wider team
- That you promote client care and cascade this to the wider team
- Your ability to provide guidance and support to all team members as required
- Compliance with internal policies & procedures
- Staff management skills
- Thorough knowledge of internal BACS procedures and client requirements
- Accountability for your team’s output
- Your ability to review and approve new AE Pension set-ups
- Full understanding of RSM financial systems
- Responsibility for reviewing team performance and setting clear objectives, which are to be monitored on a regular basis
Beyond your own excellent payroll knowledge
and client delivery responsibilities you will need to share your knowledge
within the team and manage/motivate the team to deliver high quality work, on
time, to budget and to the firm’s compliance requirements. You will also possess a customer focus to ensure their requirements are adhered to.

- 3 years+ experience of staff supervision
- Resilience under pressure
- A thorough understanding of the technical details of payroll processing including but not limited to:
RTI
Maternity/paternity legislation/SMP/SPP
Absenteeism/SSP
Leavers/redundancies/compromise settlements
Court orders
P11Ds/P60s/P45s
Salary sacrifices
Application of NMW & NLW
Tax treatment of certain staff benefits
- Meeting tight deadlines, whilst maintaining high quality outputs
- Internal accounting and reporting skills
- A keen eye for process improvements
- Supervision of other team members
- Awareness of GDPR issues and client confidentiality
Desirable
- Professional payroll qualifications
- Dealing with high volume payrolls
- Experience of MegaPay software
- Technology focused
to amendment in consultation with the individual.**
