About the role:
The Head of Solution Delivery is accountable for the delivery of strategic programmes and initiatives, proactively engaging multiple teams across the BSI estate and stakeholders to support the BSI vision and strategy. You will collaborate closely with the other functions in Group Technology and Group Change Delivery to ensure projects are set up for success, delivered effectively and achieve the desired outcomes.

You will be responsible for providing insight to those that sponsor, govern and manage projects to help them make better informed decisions which reduce the causes of project failure, promote the conditions for success and increase the chance of delivering the required outcomes.

Responsibilities include:
- Developing and driving the Technology and specifically Solutions Strategy, including the supporting delivery framework, methodology, and disciplines
- Develop Centre of Excellence for Programme Delivery across BSI, build practice communities, leveraging networked thinking
- Ensuring that Project/Programmme delivery standards are understood, relevant and applied across the organisation including to 3rd parties
- Represent Solutions Delivery across the business and step in for Solutions Director when appropriate.
- Support prioritisation of key Strategic projects and develop the right portfolio of change initiatives to deliver on the global strategy
- Ensuring the outcomes for Project/Programmmes are defined in collaboration with stakeholders, with clear benefits identified
- Providing a forward-looking view of risks holistically across programmes and potential consequences, and ensuring actions are being taken to mitigate them
- Proactively build relationships across BSI, Technology, related change delivery teams, 3rd Party suppliers and business divisions. Acting as a ‘critical-friend’ and helping them be successful
- Working with our PMO, ensure quality of project management approach and deliverables, ensuring that that projects are delivered in a consistent and controlled manner
- Demonstrating strong leadership and coaching skills to ensure team members are supported and able to achieve the objectives within their areas of responsibility, provided with appropriate training and long term-personal improvement plans to foster career growth

Knowledge and Experience Required
- Proven experience defining and implementing Delivery Frameworks & Strategies
- Experience working in an enterprise project/programme delivery environment
- Experience of working in both Waterfall and agile environment
- A proven track record of successfully delivering multiple projects and/or programmes of different types and sizes

- Ability to build, establish and maintain influential relationships to drive effective decision making
- Understands, respects, and takes account of the legitimate business and political drivers that influence stakeholders’ behaviours and priorities
- Promotes integrity and will both voice and welcome views that challenge the majority view appropriately

Education and Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Formal qualifications in, or extensive experience of Project Management and Change Delivery
