We are seeking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Curriculum Cluster Leader and Teacher of English with the highest personal and academic standards to lead our English, Film and Media cluster; someone who is an outstanding practitioner, with high expectations and a record of achieving the best outcomes from their students. We are looking for a someone with drive, energy, a genuine love for teaching and learning and a passion for English, someone who has the vision and determination to ensure all our students receive excellence every day.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to step into a middle leadership role at St Brendan’s and make a substantial contribution to further improve the outcomes of our students and shape the curriculum. At St Brendan's a cluster is a group of similar courses and is led by a Cluster Leader. The Cluster Leaders all teach on one or more of the courses in their cluster. This cluster is made up of GCSE English retake, three English (Literature & Language) A levels, Film A level and Media A Level.
In addition to leading the Cluster you will also be expected to teach A-Level English Language and GCSE English. As such, previous experience of teaching in these areas is essential. It would also be desirable if you have experience teaching all three English A levels.
You will be given 4.5 hours per week to undertake specific duties related to the cluster leader role and your teaching commitments will take up the remainder of your role.
