**Job Description**:
**Scope of Position**:
Ensure the proper and timely movement of LCL shipments in and out of the Ocean Gateway program. Support the Expeditors network by providing exceptional service through excellent communication and information flow.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
**_Customer service_**

Provide support and service to branches in the region to ensure inbound & outbound Gateway LCL cargo is processed in a timely and efficient manner, and in accordance with global and local guidelines.
- Pro-actively monitor shipments in-transit and keep network appraised with regards to arrival times, delays or transit issues and help to ensure we meet or exceed customer expectations at all times.
- Respond to queries and issues as they are raised and resolve as necessary in an timely manner
- Ensure all communications are professional, timely and appropriately handled using the best medium, for both internal and external correspondence.

**_ Operations_**
- Follow Global and local SOP’s to ensure a smooth operational process
- Use system driven workflows & reports to manage workload and identify & resolve potential issues
- Update system(s) with relevant event codes & other data in a timely manner and within KPI targets
- Ensure all documentation is supplied in a timely manner
- Meet KPI standards, as per the company’s procedures.
- Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.

**_ Service provider Management_**
- Contribute to maintaining strong relationships with our Service Providers and approve payment of their invoices timely.
- Work with Service Providers to improve service delivery

**_ Compliance_**
- Provide CFS with manifest and supporting data for the creation of Customs records within agreed timeframe.
- Monitor any Customs or OGA holds and liaise with Service Providers and Expeditors network to resolve with minimum disruption.
- Meet compliance requirements at all times and to relevant regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer policies/requirements.
- All communication pertinent to a consignment is printed to edoc.
- Any exceptions logged in SHIPLOG notes/ETMS NOTES screen.

**_ Finance_**
- Process all internal accounting & billing as soon as possible in the shipment lifecycle.
- Ensure all costs, planned and exceptional are accounted for before billing/settlement.
- Process received vendor invoices so as to avoid delays in payment
- Documented queried and follow up with vendors for resolution

**_ Personal Development_**
- Cross train on all aspects of the Gateway function
- Complete company standard 52 hours training per annum.
- Attend training classes when required.
- Complete mandatory training when required.
- Contribute to team/department meetings.

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements_**
- 12 to 36 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
- Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English.
