We're looking for an Electrical Craftsperson to join us at NNUH, offering a unique opportunity to work in a diverse engineering environment providing a wide scope for development of skills and knowledge. Reporting into the Electrical Engineering Supervisor you will be part of the technical engineering team providing planned preventative and reactive maintenance services across the hospital site as part of Serco’s Hard FM estates service to the NHS. You will ensure that the hospitals’ building, fabric, plant, electrical and mechanical services and equipment are maintained to a high standard and ensure their continued safety, efficiency and reliability.

Maintenance Assistant

You will carry out maintenance and repairs on a large variety of plant and equipment to include but not limited to:
Low voltage distribution systems; both single and three phase circuits.
Fire alarm systems
Nurse call systems
Security systems
Building Management and Control System and associated plant and control panels
Ventilation systems - Air Handling Units, Fume Extract Fans etc.
Minor installation work and testing
Automatic doors
Pneumatic Tube system
Air conditioning and refrigeration

What you’ll need to do the role

To be considered for this role you will need to have completed a recognised appropriate Engineering Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Program, appropriate City & Guilds and/or BTEC certification.

You will need proven experience of working in a similar environment and sound knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Building Services.

You must need demonstrate a professional approach, strong awareness to health and safety, good communication and customer service skills and be able to work well in high pressure situations.
