**CUSTOMER DATA SCIENTIST**

**BIRMINGHAM (hybrid - twice a week)**

**£50,000 - £60,000 + bonus + benefits**

This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Customer Data Scientist, joining the Customer Analytics team in the office of this leading retail company based just outside Birmingham. With the chance to be part of this growing analytics team, this positionwould be perfect for someone looking to take on a new and exciting role.

**THE COMPANY**:
This is a leading company in the retail industry, currently offering a wide range of products and services. Therefore, with this company's large database of customers and transactions, the Customer Data Scientist will have a wealth of data to work with andwork on, thus continuing to refine your skillset.

**THE ROLE**:
As the Customer Data Scientist, you will be joining the Customer Analytics team as well as reporting to the Head of Analytics. You will also be working on exciting projects, such as:

- Design and run experiments to collect and process relevant data for training and building predictive models addressing core business challenges
- Implement advanced analytics solutions to support the business in understanding how customers interact with our products and delivering data-driven features
- Automate and deploy the end-to-end analytics pipelines to deliver timely and actionable insights to stakeholders and customers
- Effectively communicate complex analytics results to key stakeholders and ensure the work and recommendations drive the business strategy forward
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to oversee and monitor the entire data and modelling landscape for Halfords
- Builds strong understanding of the business and its customers' behaviours
- Work closely with the Customer Insight team to combine customer analytics (what customers do) with customer research (why they do it) and give a rounded view of customer behaviour and motivations
- Automate provision of data and insights as much as possible to effectively distil insights to the business and provide self-serve functionality

**YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:
As the Customer Data Scientist, it is essential that you:

- Have excellent skills in SQL and R/Python
- Have experience in building and deploying predictive models from end to end
- Have experience in building retention models that can be built into the CRM systems

As the Customer Data Scientist, it is preferrable that you:

- Can collaborate with other teams, for example the digital team for onsite personalisation, or engineers for model deployment
- Have excellent communication skills for working with other teams and communicating with stakeholders
- Can work with a blank slate data science function and help create and build out the team, while also champion data science into the business

**SALARY AND BENEFITS**:

- £45,000 - £60,000 DOE
- Bonus and other benefits
