**Contracted Hours**:
37.5 hours per week (flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business. You will be expected to work such hours as necessary for the performance of your duties. This may include evenings and/or weekend working and overnight stays away from home)

**Role Outline**:
The Branch Operative is responsible for providing an outstanding level of service to all customers and stakeholders, both in a customer-facing environment and over the telephone, which will contribute to the overall success of Solihull Trade Frames.

They will be efficient and professional to effectively maintain stock levels, identify and recognise customer needs, assist the Branch Manager with any administrative functions and maximise sales at every opportunity in order to attain the Company’s objectives and ideally exceed branch targets.

The processing of orders and specifications is also a fundamental part of this role, as well as providing customers with accurate product quotes and prompt invoices.

**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**:

- Establish a positive customer relationship to maintain and enhance the Company’s reputation
- Identify current and upcoming customer requirements (and market trends) by establishing a genuine rapport with potential and actual customers
- Undertake the opening and closing of the branch
- Advise all potential and existing customers on the branch’s products and ensure that all outstanding queries are answered to an exceptional standard
- Ensure that all incoming and outgoing deliveries are unloaded/loaded in the correct manner and are checked thoroughly to ensure that they meet the required quality standards
- To be able to respond to difficult situations in a calm and patient manner, and feel confident in asking for further assistance from the Branch Manager (if and when required)
- To ensure that all branch product knowledge is accurate, detailed and up-to-date in order to provide all potential and existing customers with an outstanding sales experience
- Process and accept payments from all customers in an efficient manner
- Ensure that all sales documentation is entered and stored correctly (to the highest standard)
- Handle the branch’s tills (for both sales and refunds) in an efficient manner to allow all customer transactions to be processed effectively
- Process any customer orders and specifications in a timely and efficient manner to ensure that an exceptional standard of service is provided
- Ensure that the store operating standards achieve the highest level of excellence in line with the Company’s requirements
- Provide all existing and potential customers with any product quotes and invoices in a prompt and welcoming manner to maximise sales opportunities and ensure that an exceptional standard of customer service is provided
- Ensure that the shop floor is kept clean and tidy, with all housekeeping standards prioritised and maintained
- Ensure that all products in the branch are displayed in an attractive and safe manner
- Achieve financial objectives and branch targets by maintaining and reporting on stock levels to the Branch Manager to ensure that stock and services are readily available
- Provide an exceptional quality of service to all potential and existing customers to ensure that the opportunity to sell products is maximised
- Maintain the stability and reputation of the branch by complying with legal requirements and ensuring that customer satisfaction is prioritised
- Assist the Branch Manager with any administrative functions or other requested tasks
- Ensure full compliance with all Health and Safety standards in line with statutory legislation and Company policy

**Person Specification**:

- Ideally possess experience of working in a sales environment
- Vast experience of providing an excellent service to a wide range of customers and stakeholders (including handling difficult situations)
- Ability to monitor and report on all branch activity including stock control, stock variances and all other branch activity to the Branch Manager
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships with existing and potential customers
- Demonstrate a strong and accurate product knowledge
- Ability to advise all existing and potential customers to an exceptional standard
