**Job Summary**:
The post holder will support Lancaster Medical Practice in the Medication Optimisation work, including MHRA audits, cost saving and patient safety. The post holder will also support the Medicine Management Administrators (formerly Medicine Coordinators) to ensure prescriptions are issued in a timely manner, and queries are resolved. The post holder will also coordinate and support the technicians with repeat dispensing and processing simple docman queries.

**Key Duties/Responsibilities**

Duties will include coordinating all audits and cost savings, ensuring Lancaster Medical Practice is following the correct prescribing habits, in line with the ICB, ensure the repeat dispensing protocols are followed, and process simple docman. The tasks and responsibilities to be undertaken may include any or all the items below, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:

- Coordinate the MHRA audits which are given from the ICB, to ensure safe prescribing is followed within Lancaster Medical Practice. Communicating with other pharmacy professionals to ensure the audits are being followed and any reviews that may be required.
- Coordinate the cost savings in accordance with the ICB work, to ensure we are maximising the cost savings within the practice, and ensuring all clinicians and those who are involved in the prescription process are aware of any changes that are being made, and patients are informed when needed.
- To help support the practice with greener prescribing, ensuring we are following and implementing the relevant greener prescribing initiatives.
- To attend the ICB Medicine Optimisation meetings.
- To support the prescription navigators (formerly medicine coordinators) when needed, communicating with patients and pharmacies a like.
- To respond to queries in a timely manner
- Delivering the technical aspects of prescription preparation to ensure the safe prescribing of medicines.
- Delivering an efficient prescription service and ensuring service targets are met and errors are minimised.
- Keep up to date with practice formulary and the national restricted drugs list.
- To complete simple docman administrative task

To work with the pharmacy technicians to deal with repeat dispensing queries and ensure the correct patients are on repeat dispensing, maximising this within the practice
