**Role Title**:
**Youthlink Coordinator**

**Where**:The Pavilion, Bentilee Park - with some office work based at 19 Brackenfield Avenue, Bentilee

**Hours**: 16 hours per week

**Reports to**:Manager of Bentilee Volunteers

**Main Duties**:
To manage the project and to ensure that young people are supported in their access to high quality youth provision and to support them in their learning as well as helping raise their confidence and self-esteem.

**General Responsibilities**: To manage all staff and volunteers in the Youthlink Project

To oversee the projects financial budget in coordination with the organisations Accounts Assistant

To ensure the provision of high quality youth work, targeting specific socially excluded groups aged 7 - 18 years

To network with other youth work providers and to establish partnership work

Ensure that peer education projects develop, with active involvement of participants

To seek out ways to make the project more sustainable through fundraising and partnerships

Set up and manage systems for monitoring and evaluation, record keeping and statistical analysis

Set up programmes and learning activities alongside the steering group of young people

Encourage and support young people to join in with other schemes and projects

Encourage young people to be volunteers in their community and to help expand these opportunities

To consult young people and support them so that they have a voice

Monitor Health & Safety in the building ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and kept in a secure environment

To go shopping for food for the club and to cook for the young people

Assign/carry out tidying and associated duties

Evaluate training needs of self, staff and volunteers and help with sourcing providers

Liaise with children and families to assess and action their needs

To provide necessary information for reports and evaluation documents, including monthly reports for the Executive Committee

To engage with young people in a positive manner by being supportive and empathetic

Seek to increase the participation and membership of young people

To encourage young people to be volunteers in their community and to help expand these opportunities

To work additional hours, as required with notice, during school holidays and residential/day trips as well as to cover the work of colleagues during periods of planned and unplanned absences

Any other duties as appropriate to the post

**Personal Qualities**:
Ability to motivate, engage with and relate to young people from a variety of backgrounds

Confident, energetic and motivated individual with a flexible approach to work

Excellent team player

Enjoys working with young people and helping them in their personal and social development

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Ability to plan strategically

Enjoys partaking in and organising both indoor and outdoor activities

**Qualifications or Skills**:
Qualification in youth work is essential

Experience of managing and leading a team of staff and volunteers is crucial

A good standard of English, written and verbal is essential

Good standard of education is essential

Experience of working with and developing young people is essential

Skills or experience in sports, media, music, outdoor education is also desirable

**Other Info**

Must hold a full driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes

A DBS check will be required

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £13.74 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
