Job Introduction
**Do you like writing or typing? Do you have experience of taking your own notes in education or work?**

If so, we want to appoint Specialist Notetakers (manual and electronic) to work within the ASSIST team, providing notetaking support for students with hearing or vision loss, mainly in the North of Staffordshire in higher education institutions.

**Salary**:
Specialist Notetaker - manual £12.18 - £13.02 per hour

Specialist Notetaker - electronic - £12.38 - £14.41 per hour

(Depending on qualifications and experience)

Hours vary depending on availability and demand - Zero Hours Contract with additional benefits.

Main Responsibilities
You will provide notetaking support for students with hearing or vision loss mainly in the North of Staffordshire in higher education institutions. Flexible working is required due to fluid student timetables.

The office base is Staffordshire Place 2, Stafford (Centre for mileage as agreed depending on your work location.)

Duties include:

- Production of manual or electronic notes in a format appropriate to the needs of the student/client.
- Simplifying written information as needed
- Some additional out of class support for students as needed, including but not limited to; help with locating research, submitting assignments, paperwork, document organisation, exam support, sighted guide - training will be provided.

Work in education settings is typically over 2 x twelve-week semesters:
Universities: September/October - December & January - May approximately

Colleges: September - December & January - July approximately

Applicants will need to be confident in their use of written English; spelling and grammar, be able to clearly write and/or type at speed. Training needs will be assessed prior to and during interview. Other support roles may be available dependent on qualifications, experience, and availability; therefore, applicants are encouraged to disclose all qualifications, either achieved or working towards.
