**Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week.**

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic academic to join the School of Law as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Private Law (appointment dependent on experience). You should have an established teaching and research profile in private law as well as a proven commitment to promoting the student experience.

The post-holder will also conduct excellent research and knowledge exchange activities in their area of expertise; and undertake management and administrative duties as directed by their Line Manager and/or Head of Subject Area. The successful applicant will have a record of achievement in and well-developed future plans for their research.

**The Opportunity**:
**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- A strong academic profile in the field of Private Law and, in particular, in family law or the law of obligations (including in its comparative, historical or commercial dimensions), with a PhD in Private Law (or very near completion), or equivalent professional experience (Desirable).
- Ability to design and deliver research-led teaching at all levels of the curriculum in Private Law and, in particular, the law of obligations or family law, and to assess and supervise UG and PG students.
- Ability to supervise research students in their dissertation work.
- Ability to develop an innovative research profile and plan in the area(s) of expertise, including through high quality publications.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage students.
- A commitment to promoting a collegial, nurturing and mutually supportive working environment.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion for both our staff and students.
