**About the job**
**x2 - NEWS RESEARCHER, ORX OPERATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT**
ORX is the largest operational risk management association in the financial services sector.
Established in 2002 by financial firms looking to share loss data, ORX is committed to improving the management and measurement of operational risk.
Owned and driven by our member institutions, we bring together hundreds of operational risk professionals to share their knowledge, expertise and experience in the financial services industry. We are a not-for-profit industry association incorporated in Geneva, Switzerland.
**The role**
The ORX News Researcher role is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to gain exposure to publicly reported events in the Operational Risk industry, using your analytical skills and increasing understanding of complex financial concepts to write stories based on what you find. Where possible you will be able to use your language skills to identify events in international media.
The ORX News Service is designed to provide banks and insurers with timely content, research and analysis on publicly reported events where financial firms have lost over $1 million due to certain failures, such as frauds and fines. The aim is to help other financial institutions avoid making similar mistakes and therefore avoid losing money.
Reporting to the ORX News Assistant Manager, the ORX News Researcher must be an effective communicator, with strong experience in academic/professional writing and research. The role would ideally suit an individual with some knowledge and interest in finance, and experience in research and/or an academic setting who is looking to further their career in a collaborative yet dynamic deadline-driven environment.
**Our culture**
We have a great culture and we’re proud of our people and the high engagement demonstrated year after year in our employee survey. We recognise and reward hard work, whilst respecting work-life balance. Our hybrid working sees our team getting together when necessary. Days in the office are 10 per quarter, which enables our teams to establish a working pattern that suits us, and you. We recognise that family time, being there for the school run and enjoying life at home is as important as collaborating with others, socialising as a team and maximising the informal learning and innovation that happens when we’re together in the same place.
