Estimator and Purchaser

Supreme Recruitment are looking for an Estimator and Purchaser for one of our clients based in Nechells (B7) on a permanent basis.

**Duties: Estimating**

**- **Determine the scope of the job required - do we have ability to produce in-house? Do we have tooling, machinery and material? If yes, determine which press section / how we will produce work for calculation of estimate
- If we cannot produce or source a job, issue a ‘regret’ on paperwork
- If we can manufacture to the customer requirements, determine which section, look at time the job will take, look up tooling and material prices and use calculation structure to work prices
- Show all workings in full and neatly for others to follow, capturing all detail on appropriate form
- Highlight all that needs typing up on quotation
- Double check your work and calculations
- Check material stock as necessary
- If required, go to sub-contractors to obtain prices and put on a mark-up. Again, negotiate costs if possible
- Speak to Steve as and when you feel you need information or teaching things you are unsure of

**Duties: Purchasing**

**- **Receive details of required purchase orders to place with suppliers from various sources (general stock form requests, job card issued, specific requests)

**- **Determine which suppliers to choose (annotated on paperwork, historic job etc). Negotiate pricing when possible

**- **Write out purchase order including full detail

**- **Request a PO acknowledgement

**- **Fill internal section in once sent

**- **Fill job card in, showing details on who supplier is, PO number and date placed

**- **Keep job card and order paperwork until supplier acknowledges purchase order with due date

**- **Check order acknowledgement from supplier to purchase order for all details

**- **Amend and discuss / authorise any changes if necessary

**- **Annotate job card to show goods inwards due date, ensuring material or job will be received in good time

**- **Annotate job card with a blue dot if the purchase will be a simple ‘buy & sell’ job

**- **Annotate sales order paperwork with goods inwards due date and give order acknowledgement to be sent

**Hours**:
**Monday - Friday - 8.30am - 5pm**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm

**Salary**: £24,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Birmingham, B7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Procurement: 1 year (preferred)
