Trakm8 is a UK based technology leader in fleet management, insurance telematics, connected car, and optimisation. Through IP owned technology, the Group uses AI data analytics collected from its installed base of telematics units to fine tune the algorithmsthat are used to produce its' solutions; these monitor driver behaviour, identify crash events, and monitor vehicle health to provide actionable insights to continuously improve the security and operational efficiency of both company fleets and private drivers.

The Group's product portfolio includes the latest data analytics and reporting portal (Trakm8 Insight), integrated telematics/cameras/optimisation, self-installed telematics units and one of the widest ranges of installed telematics devices. Trakm8 has over255,000 connections.

Headquartered in Coleshill near Birmingham alongside its manufacturing facility, the Group supplies to the Fleet, Optimisation, Insurance and Automotive sectors to many well-known customers in the UK and internationally.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Approvals and Quality Engineer to join our team here at the Head office in Coleshill.

**Main Responsibilities of the role**:

- To manage the Product Approval process for all Trakm8 products, including the production and maintenance of the associated Technical Construction Files (TCF)
- To support the Design team and the wider company in understanding the regulatory and legal requirements impacting Trakm8 products
- To assist the Design and Manufacturing teams in identifying possible failure modes in products and components through use of FMEAs and similar tools.
- To work with the Design, Purchasing, Logistics teams and with the Trakm8 supply chain to ensure raw materials and component parts meet the required Quality standards and have the necessary Product Approvals and/or evidence of compliance.
- To support the introduction of new and changed products within the production environment including supporting the design of cell-layouts, reliability testing of production test rigs, creation of process flows and the creation of related Control Plans,PPAP, Work Instructions and similar documentation.
- To manage the Quality and Approvals aspects of engineering specifications and drawings, ECNs, BOMs, Concessions etc.
- To support the Manufacturing team in troubleshooting Product Quality issues and/or issues with internal processes and production equipment such as test and programming rigs
- To provide assistance with the investigation, analysis and resolution of warranty and other customer returned items including the creation of reports for Customers
- To support Company initiatives to identify and help resolve the causes of unnecessary cost as a result of defects in design, manufacturing and installation of Trakm8 products

**Requirements**:

- HNC/HND or above in electronics or electrical engineering
- Extensive experience in electronics manufacturing or design environment
- Extensive experience of gaining Product Approvals/Certifications in the UK
- Experience of Safety, EMC, Radio and environmental testing
- Ability to develop test plans for product testing
- Experience of New Product Introductions and Engineering Change management
- Experience in hands-on fault investigation experience with good component level knowledge
- Excellent team working skills both with internal customers and external customers and suppliers.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas when required to support Product Approvals testing
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
- Enthusiastic, self-starter with a willingness to learn
