At McLaren Applied, we’re accelerating the response to that change. Our vision is that our people and technologies will _pioneer a better future_. Our mission is to achieve breakthroughs in performance.
We’re at the cutting edge of innovation in industries including automotive transportation and motorsport. We create solutions that drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
We want to help to reduce the carbon footprint and become more sustainable. Our focus is on electrification and telemetry, control and analytics.
**Purpose of the Role**
This is a newly created role that provides business leadership for our software product activities. It reports directly to the Director, Motorsport and thus forms part of our Business Winning team.
The Head of Software Products is required to:

- Be accountable for ongoing service delivery to current customers, including the development of new product features, support of new programmes and addressing any customer feedback.
This role would therefore suit someone with an entrepreneurial or commercial background in the software industry who is also able to supervise technical activities by the team and be accountable for ensuring required deliverables are met.
Previous experience in any aspect of the motorsport industry would be an advantage.

This role is based at our head office at Victoria Gate, Woking. The role is included in our hybrid working policy with the expectation of a minimum of three days a week in the office, which should be co-ordinated with other members of the Motorsport Business Winning team. There is a strong focus on customer engagement and occasional travel to customer locations is therefore to be expected. Supplier meetings may also be undertaken at their locations.
**The Team**
The team already in place currently provides a family of products that enable race engineers and strategists to analyse complex data and gain powerful, race-winning insights in Formula 1 and other motorsport series.
The team develop and maintain products and features running on Microsoft Windows OS and SQL Server platforms with additional cloud-based integrations. Multiple disciplines exist within the team including SW development, SW testing, technical support, project and product management.
The team has skills and experience to support entry into new markets and is expected to grow and adapt as new customers and industries are added.
**Principle Accountabilities**
Business leadership

- Developing a software product roadmap
Product Delivery

- Working with McLaren Applied’s Technical Director to ensure the team has effective working tools and processes
- Management of the team budget and resources including recruitment, travel and training
