**Job purpose**
Operating within an industry leading food-manufacturing business the HS&E Managers will be required to work across all areas of the business unit. The H,S&E Managers will assist with the development of systems, and improvement strategies, while maintaining governance and performance metrics, and providing professional support, coaching and guidance to the site leadership and their teams on all operational health, safety and environmental matters. Functioning as part of the wider management team the HS&E Managers are required to motivate and direct team members towards continual performance improvement, whilst ensuring that relevant health, safety and environmental procedures are followed.

**Hours of Work**
This role will follow an office shift pattern of Monday
- Friday. 37.5 hours a week, with core office hours 10am - 4pm.

**What it takes**
The essential criteria for this role is as follows:

- Professional Health and Safety Qualification.
- Significant experience in a similar or supporting post.
- Detailed understanding of relevant legislation.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, pro-active, collaborative and forward-thinking.
- Good oral and written communicator at all levels with good presentation and training skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exposure to internal management groups, external customer base (seminars/workshops), external suppliers, Governing bodies.

Able to operate outside core hours when required and travel to other sites on occasions.
There is additional desirable criteria for this role:

- Level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Environmental Qualification
- Significant experience in a similar or supporting post within food/FMCG.
- Professional membership of an accredited organisation.
