FoodBev Media has the exciting opportunity to appoint a new deputy editor to join its growing team on a permanent basis.

This is a multifaceted role - meaning there is plenty of** **opportunity to immerse yourself in numerous projects. The deputy editor will take ownership of our latest title, _The Plant Base_ - which includes a dedicated website and bimonthly magazine. The deputy editor will research, commission, write and proof/edit all content for _The Plant Base_ to an exceptionally high standard.

The deputy editor will also represent _FoodBev_ as an ambassador of the business at important industry events (both national and international), fostering good working relationships with clients and ensuring the company is well-positioned for further growth.

This role will be based in our central Bath office. Currently, this is offered on a flexible, hybrid basis - two days in the office (Tuesday and Thursday), and three days working from home.

**Qualifications**

What we would like from you:

- The role would suit a current editor or senior editor of a B2B magazine/platform, who is looking for their next challenge
- A journalism background, ideally with an NCTJ qualification, as well as a keen interest in the business of food and drink
- Ability to keep a finger on the pulse of the industry, its latest trends, insights and the challenges that manufacturers face
- Solid experience editing and proofing content (including long-form features, news articles, news stories, media kits, interviews, etc.)
- Experience producing audio-visual content (podcasts, videos, Q&As, panels, roundtables, etc.)
- Good management and interpersonal skills - for both staff and internal members, and external clients and contributors
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to be resourceful, adaptable, meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to hit the ground running and the ability to pick up new skills quickly
- Enthusiasm to act as an advocate for the food and beverage industry, forging strong relationships with clients and establishing a profile among key stakeholders

- FoodBev_ is an industry-focused B2B media platform, specialising in the dissemination of news and insights from across the food and beverage world. We aim to produce a diverse range of content - long-form features, opinion pieces, news stories, interviews, videos, podcasts, and much more - that helps our audience stay up-to-date.

We manage three titles. _FoodBev_ - our flagship platform, which consists of a website and monthly magazine; _The Plant Base_, which focuses on all things plant-based and includes a bimonthly magazine and website; and _Refreshment_, a specialist title dedicated to the vending, water and coffee industries. We also run several well-established industry award schemes, including the World Food Innovation Awards, World Beverage Innovation Awards, World Plant-Based Awards and the Plant-Based Taste Awards. In addition, we have an exciting new publication in the pipeline

Salary range: £25-£30k (DoE)
