As the Pensions Employer Engagement Officer, which is part of the finance manager group, you will be responsible for building and developing the relationship management with the Pension Funds circa 140 scheme employers to ensure an innovative, supportive and best in class service is delivered.

The Fund, currently valued at £4.5bn, endeavours to develop and nurture the teams skills and abilities and is constantly striving to improve the service to its scheme employers and pension members. The post is a management grade role and will be part of the finance manager group where you will be involved in projects to help develop the wider Finance team enhance the working environment and build new systems and structures to meet the changing regulatory requirements and respond to public sector challenges.

A key project for the Fund is currently is progressing in the on-boarding of i-Connect, a monthly data interface portal, to all scheme employers, where employers need training support and guidance. We are also looking at rolling out training to employer organisations to enhance knowledge of the scheme and planning for retirement.

To excel in this role, you will need to be an experienced Pension Professional, ideally with knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). You will be an experienced team leader and mentor to support the Fund drive forward service changes and improvements.
- Pensions and or actuarial experience
- The ability to analyse, understand and interpret written guidance, policies and procedures and make sound judgement on pensions related issues.
- Ability to engage and develop professional relationships with a wide range of organisations and officers.
- The ability to develop practical and creative solutions to manage emerging issues.

The interviews will last approximately 1 hour along with a 15-minute presentation which will be advised in advance.

This job gives a unique opportunity within East Sussex to work directly with a wide range of scheme employers, management, specialist advisers, Elected Members and other LGPS Funds. Your efforts will impact on the 140 employers within the Fund and its 82,000 members.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
