Superb role for an experienced and motivated, hands on Production Manager.

You'll lead, plan and control the company’s production facilities to ensure that all operations are conducted safely, products are available on time, in full and in specification, maintain the highest quality standard, manage budgets and customer expectation.

Support the Senior Management Team in the development and implementation of the company strategy.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead, direct, plan and control the staff of the production department in the areas of the machine shop and assembly/test.
- Ensure all staff are appropriately trained and motivated to carry out their responsibilities to the highest quality standard. Develop a motivated and flexible production team.
- Oversee all production operations to ensure that the most efficient and effective use is made of people, plant, machinery and space.
- Lead the HSE compliance for the business and ensure policies and procedures are implemented, adhered to and monitored.
- Report and present appropriate information and KPI’s to the Management Team monthly meeting and input into the overall business goals and objectives.
- Embrace the challenges and strategies outlined by the Board of Directors.
- Monitor budgets to ensure that the optimum use is made of production resources.
- Monitor and report on production output covering quality, quantity and delivery.
- Lead the production planning team and provide the wider business with timely information relating to work in progress, lead times and expected delivery dates.
- Alert the sales department to potential delays at the earliest opportunity to ensure good customer service.
- Work with the Purchasing department to ensure timely delivery of raw materials to minimise stock holding whilst ensuring materials are available when required.
- Lead the production engineers to develop and improve the efficient use to machines and tooling to produce the required outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with and maintenance of, the most up to date ISO9001:2015 quality standard.
- Manage and maintain site security, buildings and the working environment.
- Manage preventative maintenance and machine services, ensuring output targets are still met, whilst minimising machine downtime.
- Prepare capital investment requests and justifications when require and project manage installation and training.
- Allow staff to learn, understand and contribute to new product developments to assist in ensuring an efficient production process can be achieved.
- With support from the HR function, manage staff in accordance with best practice and legislation.
- Lead, mentor and support the Apprenticeship program in the manufacturing and assembly areas to ensure continuity of engineering skills and experience in the future.
- Develop and implement production planning tools to enable clear decision making in relation to sub-contracting, capacity planning and forecasting.
- Support the New Product Introduction process within the business
- Lead the appraisal process for the manufacturing and assembly areas
- Any other tasks the Managing Director and Senior Management Team agree are appropriate for this role

**Competencies / Personal Attributes**
- Engineering manufacture background ideally with a working knowledge of machine tools and pressure equipment directive
- Experience of a contract work environment
- A team player with the ability to motivate others
- A leader with good people management skills
- Organised and able to manage projects and change
- Accountable to the Management Team for processes and functions under your responsibility
- A problem solver
- HSE knowledge with NEBOSH qualification

**Objectives and Measurement**
- Motivated and engaged production team and production planning department
- Achieve output targets / OTIFIS and other agreed department KPI’s
- Maintain ISO9001:2015 accreditation
- Maintain OEE at 60% and strive to achieve 75% across all production areas
