Elective C-section and Induction of Labour Lead

In the role of the C-section and Induction of Labour Lead, the focus is on providing leadership and coordination specific to C-sections and induced labours, rather than overseeing the entire Labour Ward. This position involves maintaining a supervisory role, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and collaborating with the management team to enhance outcomes for parents, families, and carers.
The C-section and Induction of Labour Lead will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective clinical practices, staying updated on current knowledge and disseminating specialized skills to the team. They will prioritize enhancing the experience of care for women/birthing individuals and placing their needs at the forefront of care delivery within the context of C-sections and induced labors.
Additionally, the C-section and Induction of Labour Lead will continuously assess, implement, and evaluate care plans during the intrapartum period, maintaining and developing standards of practice specific to C-sections and induced labors to ensure consistent delivery of safe and effective client-centered care.
- Responsible for leading the C-section and Induction of Labour services, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, safe, and effective care that enhances outcomes and experiences for parents, families, and carers.
- Ensure safe and effective clinical practice in ensuring own knowledge, skills and competencies are current and act as clinical expert to disseminate specialist skills and knowledge to others.
- Manage midwifery and support staff within the clinical area to maintain smooth running of the service.
- Improve the experience of care for women/birthing individuals and prioritize their needs at the core of care delivery within the C-section and Induction of Labour pathways.
