**Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENDCo)**

**Location: Birmingham**

**Days and Times: Full Time**

**Rate of pay: to be negotiated upon successful appointment (DOE)**

**Length of Contract: Until July 2023 with the potential to extend into academic year 23/24**

**REED Education is currently supporting a Secondary School that is looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENDCo) to join after Easter. The School wish to appoint a talented and inspirational leader who will be able to providesupport and guidance for students across the School, ensuring academic progress is being made. This is a highly rewarding and challenging role, where no two days will be the same.**

**The responsibilities this role will come with will include.**
- **Lead, manage, develop and maintain high quality SEND provision to enable excellent teaching and learning outcomes and success for all students.**:

- **To model effective teaching, to coach and train colleagues to understand the needs of SEND students**:

- **Take responsibility for LAC and PLAC children**:

- **Regularly monitor progress against targets for students with SEN statements from the planning the effectiveness of teaching and learning by work analysis and use the analyses to guide future improvements**:

- **To develop partnerships with parents to ensure that their views are considered and acted upon appropriately.**:

- **Collate and interpret specialist assessment data on SEN to inform practice**:

- **Be able to provide feedback to the SLT on the effectiveness of SEN provision and outcomes**:

- **Advise and contribute to all aspects of SEN training to ensure the professional development of staff.**
- **Be an experienced Teacher and have experience of teaching across all Key Stages**:

- **Have the SENDCo qualification or be working towards to it**:

- **Have experience of managing change within the curriculum**:

- **Have the ability to lead develop and manage initiatives**:

- **Have extensive experience of successfully teaching of children with SEND in mainstream or SEND setting**:

- **Have knowledge and understanding of school review and improvement agenda**:

- **Be friendly and be able to remain calm at all times**:

- **Have excellent written and oral communication skills**:

- **Have an enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to pay £38 for new check to be done.
