**Job title: PBS Practice Lead**

Location: Scarborough

**£32,000 per year**

**The Role**

You will be a confident and skilled leader with a knowledge and passion for Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

You will already hold a qualification in Positive Behaviour Support or, within agreed timeframes, be willing to work towards completion of Level 3 and Level 4 in PBS.

The role of the PBS Practice Lead involves having oversight and responsibility of specific teams. You will be expected to show judgement and initiative and have the responsibility of the development of care plans, rota planning and staff supervision.

At Happy Futures, our focus is to enhance the quality of life and safeguard all individuals who we support. As PBS Practice Lead, your specific responsibilities will focus on the following:

- Improving individuals quality of life and how well staff support this
- Leading PBS Support Team discussions
- Being present in the individuals homes to provide modelling and coaching to staff
- Promote engagement and relationships (internally and externally)
- Carry out observations of staff and provide feedback to improve the quality of support
- Leading staff in the provision of person centered support
- Reviewing the effectiveness and quality of support of staff

**Main duties**
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of effective Positive Behaviour Support.
- Provide modelling and coaching on all elements of individuals PBS and support plan.
- Ensure PBS plan fidelity by ensuring that staff are carrying out and implementing interventions as planned.
- Work with the Head of PBS to feedback outcomes from fidelity checks and devise plans to improve these.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the PBS plans and strategies through observation and reporting to the PBS Quality Assurance Manager.
- Assist with conducting assessments for the individuals we support and learning and development assessments of staff team members as guided by managers.
- Prepare reports which contribute to Person Centred Reviews, as required by commissioners, the court of protection or other partner agencies.
- Carry out monthly reviews of support plans and report recommendations to the Registered Manager.
- Working in partnership with parents, colleagues, and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for people who use our service.
- Lead on external meetings and reviews such as 117, MOJ, CPA and any other meetings for individuals you are a practice leader.
- Produce, manage, and oversee rota implementation for all staff teams as allocated, ensuring that shifts are expertly allocated and covered.
- Complete staff supervisions regularly throughout the year in line with Happy Futures policies and procedures.
- Carry out staff annual appraisals.

**On-call**

As part of your role, you will participate in the on-call system as the first or second point of contact. Your on-call duties will provide ongoing support and guidance as required. This could be over the telephone, face-toface or by completing direct support shifts as required.

- Ensure practice and quality are in line with Happy Futures Support Specialist Ltd. Policies and Procedures.
- Lead and embed teams understanding of Positive Behaviour Support requiring the use of a person-centred approach to improve a person’s quality of life.
- Work with the Head of PBS and contribute to the development of Positive Behaviour Support plans.
- Embed and deliver training within their team that enhances talent management at all levels.
- Provide, under guidance and direction from line management, quantitative and qualitative data in line with your allocated KPIs.
- Review and respond to incident reports related to behaviours of concern.
- Work in co-production with all key stakeholders to share their stories and their successes and celebrate successes.

**Training and Development**
- Be required to complete, within the agreed timeframes, the Level Three and work towards, following completion, the Level Four Professional Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support.
