Clinical Coder

**About the Role**:
Creffield Medical Group are seeking a full time Clinical Coder to join their team.

You will work with other Clinical and Non-Clinical staff to provide a first class service to our patients and to assist in the provision of effective, high quality patient care by providing administrative support to the practice. The Practice is a paper-light environment, and the main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to summarise and Read Code relevant information into the Practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the Practice notes summarising protocol.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Clinical coding for all clinic letters/hospital discharge summaries onto systmone from all scanned documents
- Clinical audit/reporting for minor surgery at end of year
- GP2GP records transfer and integration to patients notes on systmone
- Sorting tasks from GPs regarding patients
- Checking and sending paper medical records for digitalisation and scanning
- Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patient’s medical history.
- Read Coding the information into the Practice clinical system
- Auditing data collection standards in the Practice
- Monitoring progress of notes summarising against Practice targets#
- Any other administrative duties as allocated by the Partners or Managers.

You will have:

- Possess good written and oral communication skills as they will be dealing will all levels of people (patients, partners, management, clinical staff, external agencies and work colleagues).
- Good presentation of self and have the ability work on their own initiative.
- Good IT Skills - be able to use basic Word, Excel and E-mail packages.
- Should be personable, polite and patient and have empathy with patients at all times.
- Aware of all Practice policies and procedures and ensure updates are reviewed when issued.
