We are currently seeking an individual to join this team in the role of **Head of Precious Metals Operations**

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the delivery of operational services to support HSBC’s Precious Metals business.

The role has a broad remit, covering HSBC’s Precious Metals operation which is based on three Sales and Trading hubs (London, Hong Kong and New York) and includes responsibility for trade processing, metals clearing, ETFs, metals balance sheet management, physical storage, vaults, shipping and control.

In this role, you will:

- Ensure accurate processing and timely execution of all client metal transfer instructions and ETF operations within market deadlines
- Oversee the operation of all Third Party Custodians and Shipping vendor assessments
- Provide support for Front Office, MSS Operations management and other stakeholders, such as Financial Crime Compliance
- Oversee and ensure the efficient operation of HSBC’s London and New York vaults, bonded warehouses and third party custodians
- Provide leadership of the Metals Operations team
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following:

- Proven background in banking with an understanding of non-financial and financial crime risk
- Experience of leading a diverse team operating across multiple geographical locations
- Strong bullion market knowledge with a proven track record of metals settlements/clearing, shipping and vaulting within operations area preferred
- Outstanding communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail with the ability to understand and mitigate risks across a wide range of metals activities

The base location for this role is **London**
