**Reporting to the Service Centre Manager**

**Job Purpose**

The Bicycle Service Centre Mechanic is responsible for the final assembly and set-up of electric and non‑electric bikes and works as an integral part of the Customer Service Department. Additionally responsible for returned bike inspections and repairs, they support warranty claims to ensure that bikes are returned to customers in a safe and rideable state.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**

Ø Perform final assembly and set-up of consumer bike orders and internal build requests

Ø Use of manufacturer’s software and portals to perform e-bike diagnostic checks and set-up including fault finding and testing of batteries and systems components.

Ø Receipt, assessment, and repair of bikes returned from consumers and dealers, identifying faults and using the company’s systems to order and consume parts

Ø Escalate quality issues to the quality team and help provide solutions for 8D reporting.

Ø Use of company systems for stock recording and returned product processing

Ø Support customer facing teams via regular updates on returned bike repairs

Ø Perform unpacking, pre-assembly and repackaging of product as required

Ø Ensure safe operation of equipment, manual handling and follow general Health and safety guidelines

Ø Contribute to a professional work environment, ensuring that the workshop is tidy and organised

Ø Develop and maintain product knowledge to a high standard

Ø Refer to the company Knowledgebase and Intranet to keep up date with product updates and other news

Ø Responsible for personal health and safety and that of other work colleagues and to comply with company’s health and safety policy

Ø Any other reasonable duties within the scope of the role

**Experience, Skills & Qualifications**

Ø Passionate about bicycles and the bicycle industry.

Ø Expert technical bicycle knowledge and ideally a detailed understanding of the Raleigh UK Bicycle range.

Ø Good knowledge of e-bike systems, components and diagnostic software

Ø Cytec qualification or similar qualifications / experience

Ø Have a passion for providing quality in your own and the team’s work

Ø Strong organisation and time management skills

Ø Self-motivated, positive problem solver who sees jobs through to conclusion

Ø A team player who will contribute to the continuous improvement goals of the department as well as the company

Ø Customer orientated with a passion for providing the very best service to dealers and consumer customers
