£30 per 1 hour session

Autism Hampshire University Specialist Mentor Service operates within the city of Portsmouth, providing Specialist Mentorship to approximately 150 students studying at the University of Portsmouth who have a diagnosis of Autism, SPLD and/or mental ill health. The service mostly operates during the university term times, with some students accessing support for their students through-out the year.

The Specialist Mentor Service works alongside students to help them to access their university studies. This can include support to understand lectures and assignments, organise their workload, achieve learning objectives and access other student support services.

We are looking for Specialist Mentors (Mental Health) (self employed), who will effectively plan to ensure that students who are allocated funding to access the Specialist Mentor service are fully connected with and supported to attend appointments. The Specialist Mentor (self employed) will deliver mentor sessions to students whilst ensuring that procedures are implemented in partnership with the University of Portsmouth to safeguard students and respond to any concerns with student wellbeing.

To be successful in this position you will need to approach all aspects of the role in a flexible, positive and inclusive manner, have excellent interpersonal skills, be extremely organised, and be proficient in maintaining accurate records.
