Emotional Well-being Support Worker

This is a role where you will be supporting a vulnerable young person, so it's paramount that the right person for the role of Emotional Well-Being Support Worker is patient and understanding when faced with challenges and challenging behaviour. You could be working with young people between the ages of 8-17 however within this home the children are currently between the ages of 8-13.
Salary between £23,500 - £27,500 depending on experience qualifications and including sleep ins.

**Shifts**: Six week rolling rota consisting of the following shifts: 7am-3pm, 2pm-10pm, 7am-10pm and 10am-6pm and one sleep in per week
- Over a six week period you will have 2 full weekends off, One weekend working a Saturday, One weekend working a sunday and 2 full weeks of working._
**Responsibilities of the Childrens Mental Health Support Worker**:
- Acting as a positive role model for both children and other staff
- Supporting in a structure rich environment, being consistent and nurturing for young people who have experienced trauma
- Communicating with parents, teachers, social workers, therapists etc
- Assisting the children to become as independent as possible and giving them the confidence to go out and achieve positive outcomes
- Mentoring and educating the children and young people we support
- Supporting day to day activities to help build their social and emotional skills
- Managing and understanding behaviours of concern and the reasons for them
- Having an awareness of stresses or abuse, monitoring, recording and reporting
- Assisting young people with all elements of day to day life such as budgeting
- Creating a therapeutic and healthy environment
**Requirements of the Childrens Mental Health Support Worker**:
- **Must be a driver or have a driving test booked**:
- Ideally have 6 months residential experience working with children with EBD or similar
- Although experience is preferable, Personal experience is welcomed or a Degree such as: Health and social care, Criminology or Psychology
- Flexibility to shifts across Monday-Sunday on a fixed six week rota pattern
**Salary**: £23,500.00-£27,500.00 per year
