The role is a key support to the Operational Finance Director (OFD), and will include areas such as KPI production, cost accounting, as well as financial analysis to assist in measuring the performance of the commercial and operational departments.
**Client Details**
Our client is a market leader in the Pharmaceuticals industry based across a few different countries. They are looking to grow their team with a Project Accountant based in the Gloucestershire office.
**Description**
The key responsibilities of the Project Accountant involve:
- Assist OFD and sales team with project pricing, financial appraisal modelling and relevant sales KPIs
- Liaise with finance colleagues to approve sales project invoicing in line with contracts, POs and billing schedules
- Take responsibility for project cost accounting, analysing and interrogating actual/forecast versus budget variances, working alongside finance and operational colleagues in the UK and overseas territories.
- Sit on project team meetings as required.
- Feedback any areas of spend variances to inform costing budgets and ensure future pricing proposals are up to date.
- Monitor ongoing development capital expenditure, including a review of appropriateness of posting as part of the month end process.
- Work alongside the OFD to support project managers to take responsibility for project budgets and holding review meetings
- Develop and deliver relevant financial and non-financial management information within deadlines as required
- Work alongside Group Financial Controller to ensure compliance with the Construction Industry Scheme.
- Assist the OFD with input into the annual budget in respect of areas of responsibility
**Profile**
The successful Project Accountant will have:
- CIMA qualified or part qualified as a preference, however ACCA Qualified / Finalist Level or Qualified by experience would be considered
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a SME
- Advanced Excel skills; ability to manage complex data and Pivot tables
- Pro-active with strong communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with both finance and non-finance staff across the business, up to board level
- An enquiring/inquisitive nature, and ability to dig deeper into requests to gain understanding
- Pro-active, self-motivated and experienced in managing multiple priorities
- Hold a driving licence and prepared to undertake occasional journeys on Company business, including overseas trips as required.
