My client a well known Law Firm based in Leeds are looking to recruit a junior Legal Secretary to join their Intellectual Property Team. You will help and assist the secretaries in the department and in the secretarial hub to give a top service to the fee earners in the firm.

Main Duties:

- Maintaining filing systems (both paper and electronic) ensuring that all files are accurately filed, up to date and accessible.
- Typing: including audio and copy typing, the preparation and production of documents and correspondence. Preparing mail and enclosures for dispatch.
- Booking meetings: including adequate preparation for meetings, managing room and refreshment bookings and ensuring appropriate notifications are sent out to the relevant people.
- Learning to use, and help maintain, the procedures and practices in relation to the existing and any future software introduced to the department.
- Helping and assisting with the formalities admin around the trademarks handled within the department
- Scanning, photocopying and taking telephone messages when required.
- Liaising with other secretaries within the hub regarding work and covering for secretaries during absences and holidays if necessary.
- Archiving for the department on a regular basis as instructed.

Skills Required:

- Around 1-2 years' experience of working within a trainee secretary or office role
- Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Powerpoint (and some Excel would be useful)
- Be able to work confidentially on client matters
- To demonstrate that you are organised, can prioritise and work to deadlines
- You'll also need a good work ethic and want to learn and develop - we're good at that and want people who want to progress and get involved in different projects
