We have an immediate opening for a School Caretaker to join us covering schools in Wigan & Leigh, details as follows:

**Job Title**:School Caretaker

**Facility Type**: Primary Schools

**Location**: Various in Wigan & Leigh

**Start Date**: Available immediately

**Days**: Monday to Friday

**Times**: 06:30am to 08:30am then 15:30pm to 18:30pm (full details to be agreed)

**Hours/day**: 5 hours/day (Basic)

**Hours/Week**: 25 hours/week (Basic)

**Hourly Pay**: £12.00/hour

**Payday**: Monthly on 5th of each month

**DBS**: Enhanced DBS will be required. If you don't already have one, this will be completed and paid for by the company

**Team**: Mixture of working with cleaning and school staff on site

**Job Specification**:
Under the guidance of NJ Cleaning and the various School Management Teams, you will contribute to the smooth running of Primary Schools by carrying out a range of caretaking duties.

We may ask you to attend a number of schools to support them with a mixture of the following duties.

**Main Duties **(to include but are not limited to):

- Keyholding - opening & closing the schools
- Minor maintenance and repairs
- Daily, weekly, monthly, compulsory checks on items such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, roller shutters, etc

**Person Specification**:

- Experience in caretaking or an equivalent trade qualification would be an advantage
- Full driving license and reliable transport
- Flexible “can do” approach to meet the needs of the school
- Ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of a team
- Basic DIY skills
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise
